…Company Threat To Air Safety,Hijacking NAMA’s Duties– Stakeholders
The Minister for Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo has said that a company;Naebi Dynamics Concept will be investigated thoroughly for allegedly collecting fees for the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency(NAMA) without being regulated by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority(NCAA).
The embattled organisation was also alleged to have continuously been collecting money on behalf of the airspace agency for a job it knew next to nothing about and without oversight from , thereby putting the entire airspace at risk.
The illegal activities of the company were brought to the fore at the stakeholders organised by the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development in Lagos yesterday.
The Minister’s declaration followed allegations made by one of the stakeholders, Lawrence Fubara Anga, Naebi Dynamics Concept had hijacked the duties of NAMA .
It was also alleged by the stakeholders that the company has refused to give takeoff clearance for helicopters.
In view of the interference and threat to safety which its activities have created Keyamo, said that he expects a petition on the issue on his table on Monday in Abuja.
According to the stakeholder, who was not comfortable that Naebi Dynamics is playing the role meant for NAMA, wanted to know on whose authority the company is working and where it derives its powers from.
Speaking at the well-attended stakeholders forum, Fubara claimed that the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace and Development during the Buhari Administration when Hadi Sirika was the Minister signed a commercial agreement with the company in 2022.
He also alleged that the company was collecting money from clients for services it did not render and for the facilities it does not have.
The company, he said, was carrying out illegal duties as it was NAMA whereas it is not.
In his words, “Naebi Dynamics Concept collects $300 for every take off and every landing. It is not NAMA’s responsibility to collect landing fees. Whoever owns the Aerodrome is paid landing charges.”
He continued, “Who is Naebi Dynamics Concept? Does the NCAA regulate them? Are they the ANSP? Most importantly and dangerously, they are going to official facilities and are actually taking charge as if they are Government officials, risking the Nigeria oil industry.”
Reacting to the Naebi Dynamics Concept issue, NAMA’s Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Tayib Odunowo told the gathering that when the issue came to his table,he forwarded it to the NCAA for further determination.
Some of the stakeholders who spoke to Ontimenews on the sidelines of the meeting said that what the Naebi Dynamics Concept has dome is capable of jeopardising the safety of the industry, calling on the Minister to terminate the agreement .
Ontimenews learnt that some of the things the Minister will be investigating about Naebi Dynamics Concept, is who owns the company, who in the Ministry signed the commercial agreement with Naebi Dynamic Concept ? Why the Ministry agreed to sign such a contract despite the fact that the company has no facility, Why was the NCAA not carried along or allowed to regulate the company being the aviation industry regulator.
Other questions the Minister will need answers to is, who masterminded these illegalities at the detriment of safety and lastly Keyamo will want to know if the company is an Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP).
