The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Gubernatorial frontline aspirant in the 2024 Governorship Election in Edo State and former Chairman of Sterling Bank Plc, Dr. Asue Ighodalo has stated that he would use his wealth of experience to tackle poverty and drive development in the state.
This is just as he stated that a prosperous and progressive Edo State is achievable if only the right person is at the helm of affairs, appealing to the people to ensure that he is nominated as the candidate of the PDP.

Ighodalo was received by a mammoth crowd and with a rousing welcome by leaders, members and other stakeholders of the PDP on arrival at Ubiaja, in continuation of his ongoing statewide tour to seek support ahead of the party’s primary election scheduled for next month.
Similarly, the number gubernatorial candidate, Ighodalo, who also took the tour to Uromi and Igueben was also received by a sea of supporters.
Speaking during the visit to the massive gathering of party supporters and other stakeholders which filled the venues of the different meetings, Ighodalo appealed for support from the people to secure the PDP ticket for the upcoming gubernatorial election in the state.
He pointed out that the state is blessed with abundant natural resources, stressing that if the resources are well harnessed and managed it would help tackle poverty and other issues affecting the people.
While declaring that he is the most competent, credible, experienced and best qualified for the governorship job, the financial expert pointed out that a prosperous and progressive Edo State is achievable if only the right person is at the helm of affairs.
He further appealed to the people to nominate him as the candidate of the PDP.
He assured the people that if elected, he will ensure the delivery of the dividends of democracy to people of the state, leveraging on his wealth of experience and capacity.
Ighodalo, who is also a legal practitioner, reassured the people if nominated as the PDP candidate, he would ensure massive development across the state, promising not to disappoint the people of the state
Reacting, the Chairman of PDP in Ubiaja, Hon. Lawrence and the former Commissioner for Agriculture and PDP Leader in Uromi, Prince Joe Okojie, assured the aspirant of their unflinching support to ensure that he gets the party’s ticket and emerge victorious in the forthcoming gubernatorial polls
Okojie said that the mammoth crowd that greeted Asue Ighodalo’s visit is a true reflection of his acceptance by the people of Edo Central Senatorial District.
Other party bigwigs who galvanised support for Ighodalo during the visits are : the Deputy Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Maria Edekor; Hon. Friday Itulah; Hon. John Yakubu, Hon (Barr.) Akhere Ugbesia and Jerret Tenebe, among other leaders and stakeholders in the senatorial district.
