The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO) Aviance Plc has rewarded its staff, Mr. Auwal Dankode, for his exemplary behavior for returning the sum of $10,000 about N16 million belonging to a passenger.
Dankode, a cleaning staff with NAHCo found and returned the sum of $10,000 left behind by a passenger on an Egypt Air flight at the Kano airport.
The Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, NAHCO Aviance, Mr. Indranil Gupta, who commended Dankode for his actions, adding that he is a true NAHCO Ambassador, who according to him has put into practice the values instilled in him during his training with the company.
Thereafter, Gupta announced a handsome cash reward, instant promotion, and appointment as NAHCO Brand Ambassador.
Speaking at a ceremony held at the company’s Head Office in Lagos, Gupta praised Dankode’s character.
According to him, “We are truly proud of the exemplary character exhibited by Auwal. He is a true NAHCO ambassador and an embodiment of what NAHCO stands for – honesty, integrity, diligence, and hard work.”
The NAHCo boss encouraged Dankode to continue demonstrating these values in his work and to remain grounded despite the recognition he has received.
Dankode’s actions have not only earned him recognition but also a chance to travel and interact with top officials and stakeholders of the company as a Brand Ambassador.
He will also grace all NAHCO major events across the country, promoting the company’s brand.
Responding, Dankode expressed his gratitude to the NAHCO management for the training and opportunities provided to him.
“I am very grateful to NAHCO for the training they gave us and also for the opportunity to work and earn a decent living.”
Also speaking at the event, NAHCO’s Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Adeoye Emiloju, and Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Didier Steullet, commended Dankode for his actions, highlighting his integrity and honesty.
According to him, “You need to make sure you remain yourself and don’t get carried away with the adulation you are receiving on social media.”
