A former beauty queen, Oluwadamilola Aderinoye, has surrendered to the Lagos State Command of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) after eight months in hiding.

Also known as Aderinoye, Queen Christmas was crowned Miss Commonwealth Nigeria Culture 2015/2016, but went into hiding when he was linked to drug peddling.

The news of her eventual surrender was made known by the NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi in a statement made available to journalists.

Babafemi explained that the ex-beauty queen turned herself in last Wednesday, August 28 to the Lagos Command of the agency.

Recall that the ex-beauty Queen escaped an NDLEA raid last January 2024, after the agency’s operatives stormed her Lekki, Lagos residence.

However, operatives of the agency who carried out the raid recovered 606 grams of Canadian Loud (a synthetic strain of cannabis), an electronic weighing scale, a large quantity of drug packaging materials, a black RAV 4 SUV with Lagos license plates, and other items.

The NDLEA operatives also carried out another operation where they seized 1,122 kilogrammes of cannabis from a suspect named Mustapha Ibrahim along Orchid Road in Ajah, Lagos State, on Monday, August 26.

An additional 816 kilogrammes of cannabis, belonging to another suspect still at large, was recovered from the same location.

Speaking on the development, the NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive Officer Brig.-Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd) commended the officers for their vigilance and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
