The Mentorship Academy of Mamaj Aviation Consult Limited said that the much talked about second pilot seminar will hold on Oct 4, 2024 at 12 pm at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority(NCAA)Annex, Murtala Muhammed Airport(MMA), Lagos.

A statement issued by Mamaj Aviation Consult Limited said that the October gathering is the second in the series and that the first edition was organised by the Mentorship Academy of Mamaj Aviation Consult Limited in collaboration with the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology(NCAT) in 2019, in Lagos. Nigeria.

The theme for this year’s seminar is “Becoming a Professional Pilot : Benefits and Challenges”

Speaking on the first edition, the Convener of the Seminar, Joy Ogbebo, “We were privileged to have Capt. Jim Hassan of the Nigerian college of information technology Zaria, Capt. Arome Soni formerly of the Nigerian CAA, Capt. Ejike Wosu of the Nigerian CAA, Capt. Quincy Owen and Ajibade Joshua of Air Peace.

She explained that the increasing demand for information relating to the pilot profession, has necessitated the need to have this seminar, adding that need for access to information before taking career decisions cannot be over emphasised.

“Since I am not a professional pilot, bringing together seasoned experts is the best way to address the many concerns of the aspiring young pilots,” Ogbebo said.

She further informed that at this year’s seminar, the Acting Director General of Civil Aviation(DGCA),Capt. Chris Najomo, will be the keynote speaker while the special guest speakers are, Dr. Alex Nwuba, President of Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association of Nigeria, Capt. Ado Sanusi, MD/CEO of Aero Contractors, Capt.Abdullahi Zubeir, Director Airport Operations, Capt. Roy Ilegbodu,, MD/CEO Ark Airlines, Capt..Benson Ikponmwonsa and Anthony Ayeni of Ibom Air.

She promised that this year’s event will be a very interactive as pilots from different airlines will be part of the panelist session, discussing becoming a professional pilot, skills required, what it takes to become one, best schools to attend, funding, training costs, processes involved amongst others.

Ogbebo further explained that the crop of seasoned professional pilots at this year’s seminar will be having robust conversations that will help the participants have an in-depth perspective of the pilot career path.
