The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), new Comptroller Musa Shehu Ya’u has officially taken over the management of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos from Comptroller Odide Kalu, who has retired .from service.
Comptroller Kalu retired after an impressive 35-year tenure in dedicated service.
The leadership handing and taking over was done at MMIA on October 22, 2024, marking a new era for the MMIA Command.
The new Comptroller, Ya’u brings his extensive expertise from Niger State Command, where he held various positions throughout Nigeria, including roles at Service Headquarters (SHQ) Abuja.
The handover event featured an introductory tour through the Command’s departments to allow Ya’u to familiarise himself with each section’s operations.
The new Comptroller also use the opportunity to meet with Heads of Units and Command Officers to discuss plans and initiatives for the department’s future.
Ya’u also visited Zone A HQ to officially report to Zonal Coordinator ACG M.E. Onilede before assuming his duties.
Ya’u’s appointment is poised to bring a fresh perspective to the Command as part of leadership change at MMIA.
