As Finchglow Holdings continues to wax stronger as a result of its strategic thinking and unique managerial style, which led to the winning of Shell Nigeria’ travel account, the Managing Director of one of its subsidiaries, FCM, Nigeria,Adejoju Olutimayin has explained how the portfolio was secured after a healthy and stiff competition from competitors.

She gave the explanation while speaking at Finchglow Holdings media appreciation event yesterday in Lagos.

Olutimeyin said explained that initially , Shell Nigeria excluded FCM Nigeria from bidding in 2022 and 2023 .

She stated that FMC’s exclusion forced the company to go back to the drawing board to reflect, develop and carry out a critical and extensive analysis on Shell Nigeria’s travel reservations .

She further explained that after analysing the situation thoroughly, the FCM team discovered that the oil giant’d was still comfortable with the travel services the existing service provider was providing it and hence to change the narrative, FCM, Nigeria must think outside the box to unseat the competitor.

The FCM boss stated that at this point, the team decided to to use innovative and technological strategy to drive FCM’s bid,

According to her, “We demonstrated what makes FCM stand out-out, technological integration and innovative solutions. Business travel is often seen as rigid but we showed Shell Nigeria that travel can be seamless and enjoyable when managed with cutting-edge technology.”

FCM, she said advised Shell Nigeria to take advantage of the innovation and the technology the company is introducing into the business and key into it.

The strategy FCM sold to Shell Nigeria ,Olutimayin asserted got its attention and as result the oil giant transferred its travel management account to FCM in October 2024.
Speaking further, FCM Managing Director informed that in view of the fact that Shell Nigeria’s programme is large, this compelled FCM Nigeria to also expand its manpower investments to Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, Warri,an oil city in Delta State and Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)

in his words, “FCM, Nigeria significantly increased our manpower to support this growth, enabling us to effectively manage Nigeria’s largest travel programme.”

She said that FCM has experienced significant growth from the success of winning Shell Nigeria Travel account, adding that the leap would further lead to FMC securing more accounts .

She added that anytime FCM is bidding for an account in any company, the fact that itd profile shows that it has Shell Nigeria’s travel account in its kitty will further open more doors for the travel management company

According to her ,other entities where FCM is bidding for contracts will conclude that FMC must have what it takes for it to manage Shell Nigeria travel account
