The commissioning of the FM Station
marks a significant milestone for the community.
The project was made possible by Iworo-born Nigerians living abroad, who saw the need for a reliable source of information and entertainment in their hometown.
At the helm of this initiative is Primate Ayodele’ Elijah, the Spiritual Leader of INRI Evangelical Church, who played a crucial role in bringing this vision to life.
The site for the radio station was generously provided by Oba, Oladele Kosoko, the Ogundeyi II, the traditional leader of Iworo Ajido Kingdom.
Oba Kosoko’s contributions to the community extend far beyond providing land for the radio station.
As a former military officer, politician, and businessman, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities and under his guidance, the town has witnessed significant development, including the upgrade of the primary healthcare facility to a full-fledged hospital, the introduction of a model school, and the establishment of a divisional police station and local office of the Nigerian Civil Defence Agency.
The commissioning of Iworo Radio Station is a testament to Oba Kosoko’s vision for the community.
As the Chairman of the Board of Directors, he will continue to play a vital role in shaping the station’s content and direction.
The radio station which hits the airwaves on February 7, will provide the community with a platform for news, entertainment, and education.
In addition to the radio station, the financiers have hinted on plans to establish a school of communication in the town.
This initiative is aimed at nurturing the next generation of mass communicators, providing them with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the industry.
As Iworo Radio Station begins its journey, it is clear that it will be a beacon of hope and progress for the community.
With Oba Kosoko’s leadership and the support of the financiers, this initiative is poised to make a lasting impact on the lives of the people in Iworo Ajido Kingdom.
