As part of the ceremony to mark its 25 years in existence, the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) will on Saturday, February 15, 2025 organise a symposium and cap it with award and gala nite in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
 
The memorable events are aimed at educating the public and feting industry stakeholders who have contributed  in many invaluable ways to the sustenance and improvement of the aviation sector over the years.
 
NCAA was established 25 years ago and since then, it has successfully performed its statutory responsibilities of ensuring effective regulation, monitoring and promotion of safety, engaging on economic regulation and ensuring reliability of air navigation oversight in line with International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Standard and Recommended Practices (SARPs).
 
This successful outing and the fact that the Authority has been on continuous improvement since inception, called for a celebration to mark this epoch.
 
The symposium, award and gala nite will be held at the popular Continental Hotel, Abuja and the award will be based on merit to industry stakeholders who played significant roles in the emergence of the Regulatory Authority and the growth of the industry.
 
The events will celebrate the success achieved by NCAA over the years, as the management gets ready for another 25 years of effective and efficient regulation to usher in the golden age of the organisation.
 
The symposium will dwell on the critical issues that are germane and salient for the future existence of the Authority.
 
The title of the Symposium is: Human Capital Development: Upskilling the Next Generation of Aviators.
 
The symposium will entail a lecture and panel discussions.
The lecture: Human Capital Development: Upskilling the Next Generation of Aviators will be delivered by Captain Samuel Akinyele Caulcrick, former Rector, College of Aviation Technology, Zaria (NCAT).
There will be three panel discussions and these include: Panel discussion 1, “Sustaining Safer Skies: The Future of Aviation Safety in Nigeria and Beyond “. Panel discussions 2 will be on the topic: “Navigating the Challenges of the Aviation Safety: Lessons from 25 Years of NCAA Leadership and Panel discussion 3 which will be on, “Harnessing Technology and Innovation to Mitigate Emerging Safety Threats.”
 
The closing address will be on, “Collaborating for Safer Skies: The Role of Stakeholders in the Next 25 Years,” which will be delivered by the Director- General, NCAA
 
The award categories include: Eminent Leadership Award; Chairman’s Legacy Award; Aviation Visionary Award; Aviation Ambassadorial Award; Aviation Innovative Award; Aviation Industry Champion Award; Pioneers of Superiority Visionary Award; Long Service Awards (25years); Distinguished Leadership Award and Transformative and Innovative Leadership Award.
 
NCAA said it is inviting all industry stakeholders to attend the event, the Awards and Gala Nite will kick off at 7:00 pm.
