The Honourable Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and the Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musawa, has reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to fostering global collaboration ly welcoming the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Yu Dunhai, in Abuja.
A statement signed by the Technical Adviser to the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and the Creative Economy, Sandra Njoku, explained that their meeting marked a step in strengthening bilateral relations in music, film, technology, and tourism, unlocking new opportunities for both nations.
This groundbreaking partnership, Njoku said will facilitate Nigerian artists’ access to the vast Chinese market while driving capacity-building programs, investment in animation and film production, and incubation initiatives for young creatives. Additionally, both nations will streamline visa processes for industry stakeholders, ensuring seamless cultural and economic exchanges.
A key highlight of the collaboration is Nigeria’s renewed focus on revitalizing major tourist sites, positioning the country as a premier global destination for culture and entertainment. This aligns with the Nigerian government’s commitment to infrastructural development and policy reforms that enhance the creative and tourism industries.
“With Nigeria’s creative sector contributing 4 per cent to our economy and a $100 billion investment target in sight, this partnership presents a remarkable opportunity to drive cultural exchange, job creation, and innovation,” Minister Musawa stated.
“Through strengthened international ties, we are opening new frontiers for Nigerian creatives and tourism stakeholders to thrive on the global stage,” the statement reads in part.
The partnership signifies a bold step toward reinforcing Nigeria’s position as a cultural and economic powerhouse, leveraging strategic alliances to drive long-term growth and prosperity in the creative and tourism industries.
