Mr. President as a mark of commitment to your administration Mandate of Renewed Hope Agenda,the Coalition for Ethical Standard, Accountability and Good Governance (ESAGG) is using this medium to inform His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR of the negative happenings in the Nigeria Immigration Service especially after your approval of a second extension for Kemi Nandap who was statutorily by Public Service Rule (PSR) retire with her course mates on the 10/10/2024,but you magnanimously gave her an unvetted appointment not even on acting position but as a substantive Comptroller General of Immigration Service in March,2023 for a period of Eighteen(18) Months on the first extension to lapse in August,2025, suddenly another second extension was given her to lapse in November,2026 even before the expiration of the first,this is viewed as a way of frustrating and demoralising very senior officers on the line of promotion and possible appointment as the next Comptroller General after her exit.
Mr. President your magnanimity is being abused by both the Minister of Interior that chairs the Civil Defense,Correctional,Fire and Immigration Services Board(CDCFIB) who by official docurum should inform Mr President in writing of a new set of senior officers eligible for appointment to the position of Comptroller General and also sending the eligible names to the Department of State Services(DSS) for clearance, the usual process and standard,why is he trying to rubbish the office of Mr President by portraying it as being sectional and ethnic inclined by keeping in row two Yoruba Ethnic as Comptroller General in a row,one retiring as in Wuraola Adepoju and Kemi Nandap taking over in such a way denying the next two generations of courses after her denied of rising to the peak of their career,it is degrading regimentation and inculcating indiscipline,a clear act of Nepotism and ethnic bigotry and sentiment which they want to rub on the administration of Mr President.
In the light of the above a committee of enquiry of both Senate and House of Representative Committee on Interior should endeavor to right the wrong and give hope to the senior officers on line of appointment by investigating the gap created and by who,the doctoring and changing of dates of appointments and retirement so common in the Nigeria Immigration Service as a result of Kemi Nandap extension,excessive abuse of Public Service Rule (PSR) by both the Minister and CG Kemi Nandap by securing extension twice for a retired officer since 10/10/2024, the Minister should explain the gains so far, improved services and new developments under Kemi Nandap, apart frivolous settlement contracts which has no bearing with service delivery,uptill now the New Technology Building BATTIC has not delivered in line with what Mr President was told,it all ended up in video clips and media hype,Nigerians are watching keenly,for the needed correction to be done before the service is destroyed by incompetence and vendetta against fellow officers by Kemi Nandap supported by the Minister of Interior,this is a Clarion call by ESAGG for the good of the Nation and saving the President administration the bad name they want to give it.Mr President should please intervene swiftly.
Lastly the Deputy Comptroller promoted to Assistant Comptroller General without being a Comptroller should be reverted to Comptroller rank for discipline, Justice,fairness and respect for the rule of law and deployed to an office commensurate to her rank not making her an Acting Deputy Comptroller General,when she has senior Assistant Comptrollers General before her,any contrary act of promoting her to Deputy Comptroller General will be resisted.
