Suspect Has Criminal Conspiracy Cells In Ukraine, South Africa, Nigeria–Investigation

As Airport CP Advises Youths To Stay Away From Crime

A 29 years old man Abraham Akpojisheri from’ Akpos Villa, Abraka Delta state that was arrested by by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria’s(FAAN) Aviation Security(AvSec)at the local wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos has been handed over to the Airport Police Command.

A statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO), Airport Police Command, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP),Daramola Kazeem, explained that
the arrest was made possible as a result of the synergy among security agencies at the airport.

The statement issued by the PPRO further explained that the suspect, who came into Nigeria through MMIA with TAG Angola airline on June 24, 2025 with 783 MTN SIM cards allegedly brought in from South Africa where he travelled to sometimes in February, 2025 was billed to board a local flight to Asaba same day from Murtala Muhammed Airport Two (MMA2), when he was arrested

The PPRO informed that the Airport Commissioner of Police, Olufunke Ogunbode upon taking over the case directed a special technology savy unit to unravel the motive behind the possession of several MTN SIM cards by the suspect who came from abroad and was about travelling to Asaba when he was denied boarding on a flight to Asaba by AvSec.

During investigation and upon presentation of unassailable facts as unearthed with technology by the assemblage of the newly invigorated team, the suspect confessed to belong to a syndicate of Internet and identity theft fraudster who specializes in stealing people’s identities and pictures to create profiles online with intent to defraud their victims by impersonation.

In his confessional statement, the suspect stated that the 783 MTN SIM cards were bought in South Africa for the purpose of hacking CARD EAS of people’s account across the globe.

During the investigation, the Police discovered that the suspect uses Facebook as his means of contact with his victims and has created about 7-8 different emails with different foreign names and numbers telling his victims to invest on forex trade and that he is a Forex trader.

According to findings, the suspect already has scammed 10 victims from America alone raking in tens of thousands of dollars.

He also confessed that he did all these with collaboration of one of his friends called Okiemute who’s base in Ukraine and who also trained him on.how to scam and hack people’s account.

Preliminary investigation, the Police said has shown that the suspect has criminal conspiracy cells in Ukraine, South Africa and Nigeria.

The suspect is billed to be arraigned in court upon completion of investigation while effort is being intensified to arrest those in link with him.
Speaking on the development, CP Ogunbode commended the team for rejecting bribe offered it by the suspect to evade justice.

She assured that she will ensure those who commit crime don’t go unpunished and admonished youths to abstain from crime and stay away from airports nationwide to avoid been dealt with as the full weight of the law will be applied when caught.
