Death is inevitable to mortals, and what happens after death is what every mortal must think about.
The world is a stage where every person is an actor. The role(s) we play in solving or creating problems for mankind and humanity is what determines our legacy or anarchy.
A new era,a new Nigeria is possible only if we reflect on our historical past and institutional memories,what our founding fathers have done well and their shortcomings or errors and what our present leaders are doing well and errors. But we have the chance now to correct the wrong.
Those in power now can address the errors or shortcomings of the past and not repeat the same mistakes .
This is the only pathway to a new era and a new Nigeria using all democratic tools and strategies to overcome those, pains, losses, misgivings,ills,perceived marginalisation,wrongs,abuses,exclusions,neglects,need for proper succession plans and process, upholding the rule of law using merit as a standard for appointments and employment, capability and good character,track records of non culpability in any crime or criminality,with no court conviction records,fairness and justice to all citizens.
We are a very religious nation and we must be practical in our religious belief and not superficial or just being seen but doers of what we practice as a religion including those involved in traditional belief.
They must be of high moral standing, judging from a moral point of view and true religions as provided for in our constitution which guarantee freedom of worship.
Appointees must be driven by selfless service not acquisition tendencies as we read in the introduction of this article. Death is inevitable and after death, judgement is real and inevitable,
There is no legal tussle after death,no legal representation,no plea bargaining,only our actions or inactions,our conscious and unconscious thoughts that impacted humanity negatively or positively,in a good or bad way,causing pains or joy, losses or gains.
These are scenarios and yardsticks for evaluating our performance as humans and nation .
A New Era or New Nigeria is a possibility only with our deliberate, conscious and genuine intention to toil the good and acceptable path to a New Era and New Nigeria,not by slogans,but actions and motives that drives positive changes and evolution of a new nation.
We are all actors on stage. What will you and I want to be remembered for,the problems you created or solved,the ball is in our court.
Play it well,you solve problems,play it any how,you get any how result.
As a nation,we cannot afford to be doing same thing,same way,and expect a different result.
There must be a conscious, deliberate and intentional change of attitude injecting positive actions and leadership accountability and probity alongside citizens integrity and commitment to patriotism and a nationalistic spirit indeed.
The journey has began as you read this article ; A New Era,New Nigeria is a possibility.
