The Nigeria Immigration Service CERPAC Combined Expatriate Residence Permit and Aliens Card was suppose to be a drive for investment and Foreign Direct Investment(FDI)but the system has frustrated prospective Investors and expatriates that are suppose to contribute to Nigeria’s economic development and GDP.
Despite this, the Ministry of Interior, has ended up by introducing arbitrary increase in fees for Quota,Resident Permit, Citizenship thereby frustrating potential investors from coming into the country.
The Economic drive of President Bola Tinubu is tailored towards attracting genuine investors, but the online platform opened by the Ministry of Interior is opened to abuse, lack security clearance with respect to NIS having a say,or knowing the details of the applicants as the ministry has hijacked and given to private individuals the platform.
This is the same issue the Minister, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo is fighting with all the PPP established platform that have performed excellently from Iris Smart Technology, Contec, among others . The NiS the has no say in the operations of what they deliver to the public, but the companies contracted by the Ministry of Interior under the Minister are. There is need for Mr President to call the Minister of Interior to order,to allow departments, agencies under him to be autonomous and operate on mandate especially Nigeria Immigration Service, where Passport, Visa,Airport operations have been taken away and ,payments delegated to private companies. The Minister’s action is unconstitutional.
This is a patriotic call from Coalition.
Comrade Ebuka Nwachukwu, is the President , Coalition for Ethical Accountability and Good Governance(CEAGG)
