The Journalists International Forum for Migration (JIFORM) has described the appointment of Mr. Abiola Peters as the General Manager of Radio Nigeria 103.5 FM Lagos as a testament to his unwavering competence, professionalism, and leadership in journalism.

The description is contained in a congratulatory message issued today, Friday in London by the President of JIFORM, Dr. Ajibola Abayomi.

The President in the statement said that the appointment was well-deserved, reflecting Abiola’s exceptional track record as a resilient, resourceful, and highly committed media professional.

“On behalf of JIFORM, we rejoice with you on this major milestone in your distinguished career. Your appointment as General Manager is a clear endorsement of your competence, integrity, and commitment to journalistic excellence. We are confident that under your leadership, Radio Nigeria 103.5 FM Lagos will experience remarkable progress and innovation,” he said.

The statement further highlighted that Abiola’s elevation was not a surprise, but rather a befitting recognition of years of dedicated service in the media.

“This is not just a promotion but a well-earned reward for your dedication and hard work. Your performance in previous roles — as Assistant Director, News and Current Affairs at Radio Nigeria and Head of News at Bond FM — speaks volumes about your capacity, discipline, and vision. Your rise is truly meritorious,” the statement added.

Ajibola also emphasised Abiola’s immense contributions to the activities of JIFORM:

“Abiola Peters is more than a colleague; he is a trusted ally and an international journalist of repute. As JIFORM’s Organising Secretary, he has played a central role in shaping the forum’s global engagements. His dedication to ethical journalism and commitment to advancing safe, orderly, and regular migration have been evident since he joined JIFORM as a founding member in 2019,” Ajibola said.

The JIFORM President also commended Abiola’s academic and professional background, stating that
“He is an alumnus of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, where we both studied Mass Communication, and he holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso. His academic credentials further reinforce the depth of his leadership.”

“As a multi-award-winning journalist, you were instrumental in the planning and execution of several JIFORM Global Migration Summits held across Ghana, Canada, the United States, and Togo. Your strategic insight and organisational competence have contributed significantly to the forum’s global success,” Ajibola concluded.
