Boeing is donating $500,000 from the Boeing Charitable Trust to assist with recovery efforts in the aftermath of severe flooding in the Puget Sound area.

According to the aerospace giant, funding will go to the following organisations supporting recovery and relief efforts:

$250,000 for the American Red Cross Northwest Region

$250,000 for the Community Foundation of Snohomish County

Speaking on the donation, the Vice President of Boeing Government Operations,Bill McSherry, said, “In this time of urgent need, we stand alongside our Puget Sound communities and our employees impacted by this historic flooding.”

“With more than 65,000 teammates in Washington state, we are committed to supporting our partners on the ground who are providing immediate aid and beginning the process of recovery,” he added.

Also speaking, the Regional Executive, American Red Cross, Megan Dulgar said,
“Boeing’s generosity and long-standing partnership with the American Red Cross reflect a deep commitment to caring for our communities.”

“We are extremely grateful for this support that will help bring hope and relief to our local families affected by the devastating floods across Washington,” he said.

On his part, the President and CEO, Community Foundation of Snohomish County,Karri Matau, said,
“During times of emergency crisis, Snohomish County has always been incredible responders with time, talent and resources and right now it’s going to take all of us doing our part. Boeing’s incredible early gift will be essential for rapid community response.”

Additionally, Boeing employees give to their local communities by participating in volunteer and charitable gift match programmes.

Boeing matches qualifying employee contributions made in support of relief efforts.

Disaster recovery and relief efforts align with Boeing’s ongoing commitment to the communities where the company has a presence.

In 2024, Boeing provided $27.3 million in charitable contributions in Washington State and donated $3.8 million to disaster recovery and relief efforts globally in 2024.
