The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) in Sultan Abubakar III International Airport, Sokoto, has honoured the Area ‘B’ Commander, Airport Police Command, Assistant a commissioner of Police ( ACP, Usman Arzika, in recognition of his outstanding service and contributions to maintenance of law and order within the aviation environment.
According to a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO)
Airport Police Command,.Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP),Mohammed Adeola, the award was presented on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, by the Airport Manager,(AM), Mr. Isyaka Nasiru, who commended ACP Arzika for his exemplary leadership, professionalism, and commitment to maintaining law and order.
In his remarks, Nasiru highlighted the Area Commander’s collaborative security approach, particularly his effective coordination with sister security agencies through joint patrols, intelligence sharing, and proactive engagement strategies that have strengthened the airport’s security architecture.
He expressed confidence in ACP Arzika’s capacity and professional disposition, noting that his performance has earned him recognition not only within the airport authority but beyond.
The Airport Manager Commander further encouraged him to sustain the momentum.
The Commissioner of Police, Airport Police Command, Ogunbode Olufunke, congratulated ACP Arzika on the well-deserved honour, describing the recognition as a testament to diligence, discipline, and dedication to duty.
She charged him to remain steadfast and continue to uphold the highest standards of professional policing, particularly within the sensitive aviation ecosystem.
The VP reaffirmed the commitment of the Airport Police Command to the maintenance of law and order within airport environments and adjoining areas, emphasising the Command’s resolve to sustain collaborative partnerships that enhance safety, security, and operational efficiency across all airport formations.
