
The Finance and Business Online Publishers Association (FiBOP) has named the Director General/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA), Mrs. Bola Odukale, as Guest Speaker for its 2026 Annual Conference and Awards scheduled for October 17 and 18, 2026, at Orchid Hotel, Lekki, Lagos.
Odukale, who heads the umbrella body for insurance and reinsurance companies in Nigeria, is expected to bring her wealth of industry experience to the conference, where discussions will focus on finance, business growth, insurance penetration, investment and economic resilience.
Appointed NIA Director-General/CEO in May 2024, Odukale is a seasoned insurance professional and business executive with more than three decades of experience spanning insurance, insurance broking, pensions administration, executive management, corporate governance and industry leadership.
She began her professional career in 1991 with Nigerian Life and Pensions Consultants, where she rose to become Senior Manager, Production.
In 2001, she joined Capital Express Assurance Limited and rose through various senior management positions before becoming Executive Director in 2012 and Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer in 2013.
Odukale holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos.
She is also an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) and an Associate of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB).
Beyond her corporate responsibilities, Odukale has played prominent roles in the development and governance of Nigeria’s insurance industry.
She currently serves on the Governing Council of the CIIN and previously served on the Governing Council of the NIA, where she rose to the position of Deputy Chairman.
She has also held leadership and advisory positions with the West African Insurance Companies Association (WAICA), the College of Insurance and Financial Management (CIFM) and other strategic industry bodies.
Her contributions extend to several awwnational and industry initiatives, including the National Digital Invoicing and Financial Optimisation Strategy (NDIFS), the Insurance Sector Stability Sub-Committee and the Insurance Sector Committee on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
At the FiBOP 2026 conference, Odukale is expected to provide insights into the role of insurance in deepening financial inclusion, strengthening business sustainability, managing risks and unlocking new opportunities for the Nigerian economy.
Her presentation is also expected to examine how the insurance industry can support businesses and investors in taking advantage of opportunities emerging from the African Continental Free Trade Area.
Odukale’s participation, FIBOP said would add significant value to the conference, describing her as one of the respected voices in Nigeria’s financial services sector.
The association said the annual conference is designed to bring together policymakers, regulators, business leaders, financial experts, insurers, investors, entrepreneurs and online publishers to examine practical strategies for economic growth, enterprise development, investment and financial stability.
The two-day FiBOP 2026 Annual Conference and Awards, scheduled for Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18, 2026, at Orchid Hotel, Lekki, Lagos, is expected to attract leading figures from the public and private sectors as well as stakeholders across Nigeria’s finance, banking, insurance, investment, business and the media industry.
