…To Engage Unions, Professionals, Stakeholders
The Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria(FAAN),Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku has stated that one of the priorities of the agency under her watch is to optimise the revenue profile of the agency and reduce wastage .
This is just as she also said that professionalism and staff welfare will also be her major focus.in addition to the agency’s revenue generation.
She said this at the maiden meeting with management and staff of FAAN at the agency’s Lagos office today, shortly after the handing over documents was handed over to her by Legal Adviser/Company Secretary, Mrs. Bridget Iwinose Gold.
According to Kuku, “Revenue generation is important and will be optimised and we will minimise waste. My mission is to make sure to increase aeronautical and non- Aeronautical revenue.
Speaking further, Kuku said that she was in FAAN but that she left in 2017, adding that she was happy to be back home.
The new CEO said that she was here to work and also continue with the legacy of the last administration , adding that FAAN will not start afresh but build on the existing foundation laid by the last administration.
Kuku also said that she work with other sister agencies in the aviation industry to move the sector, adding that she has also spoken with the agency heads.
She said that she would make staff welfare her priority, but that they must be committed to put in their best.
“I will play my part and I expect them to do same,” Kuku said
The new FAAN boss said that the agency will collaborate with both national and international organisations to boost the image of the agency.
She also promised to work with the unions, professionals and other stakeholders in the sector and engage them to bring about industrial harmony and growth in FAAN.
She hinted that she would drive the viability of FAAN as a national asset, adding that this is very critical and that it is not negotiable.
FAAN, she said will maintain international standard as obtained in developed aviation climes by improving on professionalism especially on security, safety and standards
“Let us build a FAAN that all of us will be proud of,” she said.
