Edo State House Of Assembly yesterday suspended three members of the House over an alleged plot to impeach the Speaker and other Principal Officers of the House and also for inciting troubles among members.
The three members include Hon Bright Iyamu Orhionmwon II constituency, Hon Isibor Addeh Emakhu Esan North East I, and Hon Donald Okogbe Akoko-Edo II.
The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, said the trio were suspended indefinitely.
He alleged that they were plotting to change the leadership of the House.
Agbebaku alleged that the three suspended members were being influenced by external forces to cause chaos and remove the leadership of the House.
The Speaker also said that some persons brought ‘native doctors’ into the House at midnight on Tuesday, March 30th, 2024, to make some demonic incantations and dropped charms in the Assembly complex.
The situation degenerated into a mild drama that ensued between the Speaker, Rt Hon Agbebaku and the suspended members who disagreed with him upon the announcement of their suspension.
The House plenary was thereafter adjourned to Tuesday, May 7, 2024.
