The Nigerian Border is not an issue of public speaking without the experts being on ground, but is the relevant agency tasked with deliverable the Comptroller General  of the Nigeria Immigration Service(NIS), Kemi Nandap appointed only to fill a quota gap? How come she is not talking about a mandate under her ? Nobody knows where it pinches, except the person wearing the shoe. It is very painful that alot of Senior officers that had put in 35 years of their youthful years are being rubbished and neglected in the area of consultation. These are people who  should talk about the Border management having seen it all and rose to ranks of an Assistant Comptroller General,Deputy Comptroller General,or a Comptroller General and has spent 35 years of unbroken service in the Nigeria Immigration Service and retired with honour,

If the nation has to take border management serious, this free consultation tells what it will cost by estimate to erect a border void of politics and media theatrics:

The estimated  cost of building a 6 metre high border wall across Nigeria’s Northern, Western, and Eastern borders is huge.

Border Lengths

– Northern border with Niger: approximately 1,497 km

– Western border with Benin: approximately 773 km

– Eastern border with Chad and Cameroon: approximately 1,690 km (Chad: 85 km, Cameroon: 1,605 km)

Total border length: 1,497 km + 773 km + 1,690 km = 3,960 km or 3,960,000 meters

Cost Calculation
Assuming a cost per metre of $500 to $625, based on previous estimates:

– Minimum cost: 3,960,000 metres $500/metres er = $1,980,000,000

– Maximum cost: 3,960,000 metres  $625/metres = $2,475,000,000

Additional Considerations

– Terrain and environmental factors can impact construction costs.

– Material costs, labour costs, and logistics can vary significantly depending on the location and availability of resources.

– Maintenance and upkeep costs should also be factored into the overall cost of the wall.

These estimates are rough and based on limited data. A more detailed analysis would be required to provide a more accurate estimate.

For a more precise estimation,an invite should be extended to former Comptroller Generals of the Nigeria Immigration Service who knows what to do and who to consult. No other person can speak on border management except an expert that has put in 35 years of unbroken selfless service in the Nigeria Immigration Service.
