…Felicitates With Air Travellers, Stakeholders, Airport Users
The Commissioner of Police, Airport Command, Olufunke Ogunbode, has ordered massive deployment of officers to all strategic places in and around airports across the country to ensure maximum security of lives and property during the Salah celebration and public holidays.
Briefing the Command’s management team, the Divisional Police Officers(DPOs) and Heads of Units on her proactive plan to ensure hitch free Salah celebration as contained in the operation order earlier released for that purpose, the CP directed Area Commanders(ACs) in the zones and the DPOs under them to deploy personnel to strategic locations within their Areas of Responsibility(AoR)
A statement signed by the Public Relations Officer(PRO), Airport Police Command, Chief Superintendent of Police(CSP), Daramola Kazeem, explained that the locations which include but not limited to pick up and drop off areas as well as entry and exit routes to the airports must be well policed to boost confidence of air travellers across the nation without leaving any of the Eid grounds in their AoR unmanned.
The officers deployed have not only been lectured to be civil, courteous and shun corruption but have also been instructed to maintain a high level of vigilance and be professional while carrying out their duties.
The statement informed that the CP extended her felicitations to air travellers on both local and international flights, particularly Muslim Ummah on the occasion of the Salah celebration.
She urged Muslims to pray for Allah’s protection and peace in the country while admonishing them to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice and faith as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him), just as she congratulated the Inspector General of Police(IGP) Olukayode Egbetokun his management team on the successful hosting of this year’s police award and commendations, reassuring officers and men under her command of the IGP’s commitment to their welfare.
She urged them to put on their best performances to meet the required international standard and best practices and resist any act inimical to the ethics and ethos which the Nigeria Police Force are known for.
The Airport Police boss also felicitated with other sister security agencies in the airport a happy Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
