The Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN) joined in the grand celebration of the 24th Ofala Festival of His Majesty, Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Achebe, the Obi of Onitsha, extending heartfelt felicitations to the revered monarch on the successful hosting of this globally acclaimed cultural heritage event.
Led by the Vice President (South East),Mr. Wilson Ugwu the FTAN delegation participated alongside distinguished dignitaries, government officials, and cultural stakeholders in paying royal homage to the Obi during the colorful and historic celebration.
In a show of partnership and goodwill, FTAN also had the honour of welcoming the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, who led the Federal Government delegation to the festival.
The warm reception highlighted FTAN’s ongoing collaboration with the Ministry and its
commitment to promoting synergy between the public and private sectors for the advancement of Nigeria’s cultural tourism industry.
The festival, themed, “Njiko na Ntachi” (Unity and Resilience), once again showcased the splendor of Igbo heritage through traditional performances, artistic displays, and ceremonies that embodied the spirit, pride, and resilience of the Onitsha people.
Speaking at the event, Ugwu commended His Majesty for his visionary leadership and unwavering dedication to preserving cultural values and promoting tourism in the South East.
