Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) is to spend a sizeable chunk of its 2026 budget on the acquisition of state-of-the art ground handling equipment and facilities in compliance with globally accepted standards.
This was disclosed in a statement, signed by SAHCO Head of Corporate Communications, Mrs. Vanessa Uansohia.
She said that the equipment are eco-friendly and will further enhance the company’s capacity for efficient and effective service delivery to numerous airlines on international and domestic routes.
“In line with its sustainability agenda, SAHCO has commenced the replacement of ageing equipment with eco-friendly ones and would continue while maintaining full environmental and sustainability compliance across all facilities”, the statement said.
Equipment and manpower are interwoven, hence the renewal of the company’s Training School Authorization and expansion of the school offering a wide bouquet of courses in line with global best practices.
According to SAHCO, the year 2025 was robust in all facets of the company operations as it welcomes onboard new airlines including Ethiopian Airlines, Air Tanzania, Air Algerie. ValueJet Airlines, United Nigeria Airlines, Pioneer Airlines, Binani Airlines, ExeJet, Enugu Air and Air Peace.
The statement noted the milestones the company recorded in 2025, which included the renewal of certifications of the IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO), Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON); Quality Management System (QMS) and the Regulated Agent (RA3) with validity to 2027.
SAHCO was in the news for excellent industry performance with a litany of awards spanning FAAN Safety Excellence Award, NIGAV Aircraft Handling Service Award, Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology Award as Aviation Service Provider of the Year, Best Ground Support Service Company of the Year at Nigeria International Air Show and GSE Certificate of recognition from IATA. British Airways also recognized SAHCO Abuja office with Bronze Award and its Lagos Station with Gold Award for Punctuality and Safety across Middle East, Africa and Asia/Pacific regions.
The Managing Director of SAHCO, Mrs. Nike Aboderin reaffirmed her company’s commitment to efficiency, safety and punctuality in offering ground handling services to clients.
