Muhammad Babandede a former Comptroller General of Immigration,(CGI) Service, a tested Border Security technocrat, expert in Migration Governance, Advocate for Safe Border and Migration, with close to four decades of public service experience,re- known advocate for the eradication of poverty, malnutrition in families and a dogged fighter against out- of-school children menace, campaigner for Girl Child Education,member of several boards.
Babandede is also the present Chairman of Peace Building Development Foundation,a Non Profit Organisation(NGO) that trains,teaches and advocates for Peace and Security globally, the CEO/ Founder of Sure4U, a non profit making organisation that has contributed immensely to the emancipation of the out- of – school children and vulnerable groups in the North West specifically Kano and Jigawa states and the FCT, Abuja.
Nigeria today more than ever needs a Muhammad Babandede to occupy relevant political position including among others the Senatorial Seat of Jigawa North East; his Senatorial Zone.
The internal security of Nigeria is top most in the heart of Babandede and this can be attested to, from his stewardship on appointment as the 16th Comptroller General of Immigration Service in 2017, by President Muhammad Buhari.
He piloted the establishment of an integrated border corps with several Forward Operation Bases( FOBs) across strategic border states in Nigeria in the South West in Lagos,Oyo and Ogun states,in the North in Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto,Kano,Jigawa, in the South South; Akwa Ibom, and Cross River states,numerous Border Corp Commands that operates independent of the State Commands in strategic border frontiers.
Under his watch,the Nigerian Passport migrated to enhanced e- passport in 2018,making Nigeria the first in Africa,.
He worked in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force to establish a strategic security partnership and network with the integration of Nigeria Immigration Service(NIS) SLTD platform under his watch that uploaded the highest cases of special interest to the INTERPOL platform through the NCB till date, using the INTERPOL NCB I- 24/7 tool of the Nigerian Police Force in collaboration with the Nigeria Immigration Service for Stolen Lost Travel Documents across the globe for a secured global community.
Babandede apart from the years of dedicated service to the country in public service,on retirement he formed an NGO known as Sure4U,through which he embarked on private advocacy and championing of free education through sponsorship programme,advocating for educational re- integration of the out- of- school children in the North and vulnerable groups.
He also champion fight against human trafficking and smuggling of persons, a major migration hovernance issue in Sub-Saharan Africa and the West in collaboration with reputable foreign partners in the field of migration management through his wealth of experience and good knowledge of Border Security and Migration Management.
He is an asset to the Nigerian state,a Migration Management Ambassador,Humanitarian , Peace and Security advocate,a technocrat of high repute,a trusted manager of resources and project manager that laid the foundation for modern migration management in Nigeria with the successful building of the first of it’s kind,Nigeria Immigration Service Technology Building in 2021 under President Muhammad Buhari .
The project oversees the effective Border Security and Migration Management in Nigeria through the deployment of modern cutting edge technology and control system from the Nigeria Immigration Services Command and Control Centre located at the Nigeria Immigration Service Headquarters in Abuja, publication of Migration Magazines and Journals that served as reference materials for government,private institutions and international communities for a period running 2017 to 2021 on monthly basis.
Babandede is a household name in the country and will do better given the opportunity to serve in a higher political capacity as a Senator in the Jigawa State North East Senatorial Zone.
