Ethiopian Airlines, the number 1 airline stock n Africa has extended its dominance at the SKYTRAX World Airline Awards, retaining the ‘Best Airline in Africa’ title for the ninth consecutive year at the 2026 edition of the prestigious global aviation awards.
The airline also emerged winner in two other major categories, carting away Best Economy Class Onboard Catering in Africa and Best Business Class in Africa.
The latest honours further reinforce Ethiopian Airlines’ standing among Africa’s leading carriers, while highlighting its continued focus on service quality and passenger experience across its extensive global network.
Speaking on the recognition, Ethiopian Airlines Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Mesfin Tasew, said the ninth consecutive Best Airline in Africa award was a significant milestone for the airline.
“Being recognised as the Skytrax Best Airline in Africa for the ninth consecutive year is a proud milestone for Ethiopian Airlines. This achievement reflects the confidence that our valued customers place in us, the dedication of our employees, and our continued commitment to delivering world-class service”, Tasew said.
He said that the airline was honoured by the recognition and would remain committed to delivering excellence to every passenger it serves.
The awards, he said reflect the airline’s efforts to strengthen its service offering through investments in modern aircraft, digital innovation, network expansion and improvements across the passenger experience.
