The President of Business Club Ikeja ((BCI) Dr. Adesola Falaiye has stated that the essence of BCI Trade Expo 2025 is to create an environment where businesses converge to do business by showcasing their products and also present the services they offer to the public.

She stated this at the maiden edition of the BCI Trade Expo 2025, which opened yesterday in Lagos.

She informed that the event provided opportunities for businesses to meet and do business among one another.

Falaye noted that no matter how small a business entity is, it needs visibility and mention, urging businesses to make the best of the opportunities the BCI Trade Expo 2025 has provided, as no one can tell where it will take them business to.

According to her, ” Every business needs visibility. Please take the best of the opportunities provided by BCI Expo.”

She pointed out that since the whole essence of BCI Trade Expo 2025 is to do business, the organisers decided to make, ” Buy, Sell and Connect” its theme for the inaugural edition.

Also speaking, the Institute Director at the Commonwealth Institute for Advanced and Professional Studies, Lagos, Prof Anthony Kila,while making a brief speech at the Expo during the opening ceremony, said the programme will not only provide opportunities for businesses to connect but that it will also create an avenue for collaboration and partnership.

He said that there is no doubt that business interactions would take place at the Expo in view of the chances created by the event for business entities.

” I hope that this pilot scheme organised by BCI will encourage other businesses to be part of the Expo.” Kila said.

Kila also said that the opportunities created by BCI Trade Expo for businesses to do business should be maximise for optimum benefits, adding that BCI is committed to ensuring the exhibitors benefits from the inaugural edition of the Expo

On his part, the Revenue Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area(LCDA,) Hon. Adetola Okanlawon submitted that event like this play vital role in building partnership.

He said that the innovation, partnership and collaboration that will take place at the Expo will help shape the businesses.

Okanlawon said the role of government is to provide the enabling environment for business to thrive.

According to him, ” The Expo is not about competition but about collaboration, partnership and strategic business ideas that drives businesses today. Let us continue to create eco- business environment where businesses can operate in.”

He said that he looked forward to seeing collaboration and partnership that will emanate from this Expo.

Present at the Expo were officials from Ministry of Commerce and Onigbongbo LCDA.

Organisations that participated at Expo yesterday included: Micronet Technologies Limited, AFKAR, PKF, LEETS and Melbarn

Others are : CIAPS, Integrated Academy, Integrated Air Services, Reals Pharmaceutical among others.
