The Managing Director of Primero Transport Services and Chairman of the Nigeria Transport Infrastructure Summit 2025, Mr. Fola Tinubu, has posited that Transportation is not all about the movement of people or goods but also about connecting lives, driving trade, and fueling development.
He also called for greater innovation and sustainability in the nation’s transport sector to meet the needs of a modern economy.
He spoke at a summit held in Lagos.
Tinubu said that Nigeria’s transport infrastructure must evolve beyond traditional systems and embrace technology-driven solutions for long-term growth.
“Transportation is not just about moving people or goods; it is about connecting lives, driving trade, and fueling development,” he said.
The summit, themed, “Nigeria’s Transport Infrastructure: Innovation for a Sustainable Future,” drew participation from industry leaders across aviation, maritime, rail, and road sectors.
Tinubu commended the organisers, JustAlive Communications Limited, for creating a platform that unites public and private stakeholders to shape Nigeria’s transport future.
He stressed that sustainable transport innovation in Nigeria requires a mix of smart technology and environmental responsibility.
“Electric buses, smart ticketing, intelligent traffic management, and cleaner energy solutions are changing transport systems globally,” he said.
“We have the talent and creativity to do the same in Nigeria what we need is collaboration.”
Tinubu urged government and private players to form partnerships that foster innovation while addressing long-standing infrastructure challenges such as poor roads, underdeveloped rail systems, and underutilised waterways.
“No single company or government agency can do it alone. It takes partnership, policy support, and a shared vision to build a truly integrated transport system,” he noted.
The summit is expected to produce a policy and action roadmap to guide Nigeria’s transition towards efficient, inclusive, and sustainable transport infrastructure.
