…Reaffirms Commitment To Education, Nation Building
The Chairman of West and Central Africa’s largest airline, Air Peace, Dr Allen Onyema, has been conferred with an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Public Administration (Honoris Causa) by Abia State University.
This lastest honour brings to four the number of honorary Doctorate that have bestowed on him.
The conferment was held in alignment with the University’s 32nd Convocation Ceremony, in the presence of a distinguished gathering of academic and industry leaders.
Leading the delegation were the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ndukwe Okeudo; the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Dr Agwu Agwu; and the Registrar, Dr Acho Elendu, alongside members of the institution’s leadership and the airline’s management team.
In his remarks, Onyema underscored his unwavering commitment to education and national development, stating that, “One thing is certain, I believe in education. Without education, the country is dead and whatever we must do to encourage education, the government alone cannot fund it. The private sector must be actively involved.”
He expressed deep appreciation to the Executive Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, for the nomination, noting that the recognition reflects his enduring contributions to the development of Abia State and Nigeria at large.
Onyema’s growing list of honorary doctorates stands as a testament to his impactful philanthropy, consistent investment in human capital development, and his broader commitment to nation-building through enterprise and social responsibility.
